Rupert F. Barron is a 1991 graduate of the George Washington University Law School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with high distinction from Indiana University. After obtaining his law degree, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Delaware Superior Court.
Rupert's civil litigation practice emphasizes complex business, commercial and banking litigation. In addition to litigation, Rupert counsels clients in relation to contractual and transactional matters. His representative experience includes representation of national, regional and local banks and financial institutions, regulatory agencies, insurers, commercial landlords, small businesses and individuals in a broad variety of matters including bank litigation, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) matters, mortgage fraud and foreclosures, embezzlements, mortgage-backed securities litigation, Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and consumer rights litigation, fidelity and surety, insurance coverage, commercial landlord-tenant, DTPA litigation, residential and commercial construction matters, contract disputes, franchise law, lien disputes, trademark infringement, non-competition/non-compete agreements and employment, antitrust matters, wrongful death, will and trust disputes, and satellite trust litigation.
Rupert is rated an AV lawyer by Martindale and Hubbell. He has successfully represented clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts, in civil trials and on appeal. He represents clients in the Houston area and throughout Texas.
He is a Director on the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel, and a Member of the Litigation, Commercial and Consumer Law, and Construction sections of the HBA. Rupert is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
